Jason Danino Holt - artistic director of HABAIT theatre tel aviv, founder of UMAMI - Tel aviv based indie creation group. Born and raised in Tel Aviv in 1987 to a British father and a Moroccan\Canadian mother - Danino Holt is a Playwright, theatre & documentary director, performer, translator, TV presenter and cultural entrepreneur. Winner of the Rozenblum prize for best young artist 2016. selected projects : “HE CAME TO BERLIN TO DIE” - co-production with the Akademie der kunste (ADK) - Berlin. “I Know It When I See It” - Kampnagel summer festival Hamburg, “Whore” (Gehäutet , translated to German by the ADK), “Not Letting it In” (an international conffetional theatrical event), “Shanti and Martin” (documentary film about his mother. In television he has presented shows in MTV europe, channels 22,10 and 24 in israeli television and on international news channel I24news.
HE CAME TO BERLIN TO DIE
A man travels to Berlin. He knows he’s about to die. He will not be going back home. All is preparing for his death. He came to Berlin to die. That is his venue for this singular extinction. Together. There’s an endless amount of participants in this group-dying act. Looking at this city - blood blown gently by its ghosts, dance floor nectar pouring up and down on its juicy spiral. Immigrants or locals, queers or refugees, party animals or mere junkies - we all drain down the sewerage of pearls. This feeling of “no choice” - what is that about? The act of formation - one big trans like entity - a new body, a new life, a new dawn, another day... where judgment and shame are not part of the conversation. The myth is decomposing as we speak. Can you hear them? The darkroom floor forever sticky. The sound of sports shoes on a basketball court. No one is listening - no winner, no points - the smells reminds him of his previous lives, burning down the house. Pissing on the trees. Horny sorcerers, super long lines, HEARTS DON'T HEAL HERE, they just sink deeper in the sand.

ניים דרופ היא אירוע סביב הרגעים בהם מוסיקה הופכת לסאונדטרק של החיים שלנו. או שאולי המוזיקה היא רק תירוץ?
תשעה פרפורמרים עם בנק של רגעים מכוננים שקשורים קשר הדוק וכמעט בלתי רצוני למוסיקה מנסים לדבר את החיבור בין הפצע למנגינה שלו. מנינה סימון לצ׳ארלי מגירה, מטכנו לרחמנינוב, מבלדות ספרדיות לירושלים של זהב, מ״יובל אם זה נגמר זה חבל״ ל״הבן של ארז נץ שים אינפקדט״.
מוות ופרידה, התאהבות ואכזבה, זיונים ומסעות אבירים - לחיים של כולנו יש פסקול. ייחודי, חד פעמי, צרוב, בלתי נשלט וחד משמעי. המסע של ניים דרופ הוא לדבר את החיים, הכי אישיים, עדיין מדממים, דרך המוזיקה שתמיד הייתה שם, שפתאום צצה שם, שתמיד תיקח לשם בחזרה - כמו ריח מהילדות, כמו אוכל של אמא….
לכל פרפורמר יש את מאגר הסיפורים והשירים שלו - אך בכל ערב סדר השירים משתנה. יותר מזה, המשימה של כל פרפורמר היא תמיד להמציא את הסיפור מחדש, לספר אותו אחרת, בתזמון אחר, בתזמור אחר, בפעולה בימתית אחרת, בדימוי אחר, לצד סיפור אחר. לפעמים זה מונולוג, לפעמים חלק מסצנה המונית, לפעמים הסיפור הוא שבריר ולפעמים הוא עשרים דקות מתוך האירוע. החקירה הפרפורמטיבית היא למען החד פעמי, האמיתי והבוער. דברים נאמרים אך ורק כשהם חייבים להאמר…
Not Letting It In
"Not Letting It In" is a unique durational theatrical experience that investigates the art of confession. only confessions. personal, real and autobiographical. The performers sit around a table, and the audience, which may come and go as it pleases, sits close to them and is encouraged to confess as well, but with no obligation. Together with the audience they create a zone of temporary freedom, which can be heaven or hell, but one that always remains a preformative playing field.
This performance moves venues and switches its context by doings do. the Israel Museum of Design or Tel Aviv’s National Library, a hectic night club or a deserted cultural centre in south of Israel. When the show is done abroad, danino holt mixes up the table of performers by casting and training local artists to confess alongside the israeli cast. The latest show they’ve done abroad was invited by the Akademie Der Kunste - Berlin in which four performers were from berlin and four from israel. The show abroad is done in english.
